🤝 Safe Meetup
Essential tips for safely meeting people on Ysos
You can never be too safe! So here are some tips to help you meet great people and plan a meetup without compromising your privacy.
First, be mindful when posting photos and avoid showing things like:
- Identifiable tattoos
- Family portraits or photos in the background
- Signs showing your address
- License plates
- Diplomas or certificates on walls
- Anything else that could reveal your identity
If you decide to show your face, it’s allowed — but we recommend caution and only doing it if you’re comfortable being identified.
Another important tip: Ysos does not allow contact information to be shared in public areas!
Never share your phone number, WhatsApp, Telegram, or social media profiles in public fields. Only share that information once you’re confident in the other person.
Chat a lot before meeting up!
When you match with someone on Ysos (both users liked each other), a chat will open so you can talk and possibly schedule a meetup.
These questions can help ensure everyone feels safe and clear before meeting:
- Ask about their rules or boundaries
- Discuss their preferences
- Check their experience with the lifestyle
- Don’t start with overly personal or intrusive questions
- Don’t pressure anyone into meeting if they’re unsure
- Check for consistent answers in different conversations
- Look for details that build trust
When to ask for access to private galleries?
If your chat is going well and there’s mutual interest, ask for access to the private gallery and be willing to share yours as well.
Choosing a meetup location
Once you feel comfortable with the person, pick a public place for your first meetup.
A restaurant, café, or food court are great options to ensure safety and comfort.
Public places also make it easier to gracefully end the meeting if there’s no chemistry — unlike going straight to a motel, for example.
